Guys as we look back on the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 lefts reflect back on what we saw that day. It was a terrible day not only for the 343 brothers that we lost but also all the innocent lives that were lost that day. I will be working tomorrow for the ceremony at the FD but I will be with you all in spirit and in thought. I pray we will all never forget that terrible day and always cherish what we do for it is a calling to serve our community each and every day in the unique way that we do. I Love each and every one of you and I am proud to say that I am apart of the best FD in Gaston County.
To my fellow BROTHERS,,,
I cant thank you enough for the support that you have shown during the passing of my daughter. Your kind words in text, emails, cards and phone calls meant so much to me and my wife. You guys have truly stood by me! I know when the Bag Pipes played Amazing Grace as we walked in the church, i knew i wasnt the only one weeping, you guys were weeping with me. My son is still in the NICU and he needs the prayers. Once agin thanks for your support and prayers...

Warmest Regards,

You never really realize what a family means to you until something happens where you need them. We as a society take for granted the things and people that are the most important to us because we know they will be there for us. As many of you know my wonderful wife has been in and out of GMH all this week with something that is not common and is very scary. We are still dealing with trying to find out what is going on but we are making progress and I thank God for that and I also thank God for my wonderful FD family. Thanks to all of you for the thoughts and prayers and I ask that you continue to Pray while we are still trying to figure out what is going on. Thanks again and keep praying for Caroline as we continue to go through this tough time.
I am the mother of Fallen Fire Fighter Richard Miller from the Belmont and Millers Creek Fire Departments. I was looking for your address to send you a "Thank you" card for your kindness during the death and funeral services of our son. I have that now and you will be receiving a card. What a wonderful site you have here! Thank you for the picture posted here of the tribute you and others paid to Richard. We can never tell you how much we appreciate all that everyone has done for us. You are all amazing. Richard loved being a fire fighter and a Respiratory Therapist. He loved helping anyone that he could and we have always been so proud of him. We are so honored by the beautiful service and tributes that have been paid to him. God bless you always, and please continue to pray for our family and we pray for your saftey as you protect us. If we can ever do anything for you we would be honored. Forever in your debt, The Miller Family.

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for all the thoughts and prayers in the passing of a dear family friend and the passing of my grandfather this week. It is always hard to lose people close to you but when you have friends and family like all of you it makes the heartache not so bad. You made me and my family feel loved and showed how much you all care in a tough situation. Thanks again and continue to pray for my family. I sincerely love each and every one of you. We are all family and it shows in times like these. Your brother Chris Ingram

I am the State Fire Management Officer for the BLM in Colorado. We just received your card in the mail today. From all of us here in Colorado we want to say a heartfelt "Thank you" to the Union Road Fire Department. Brett Stearns was one of our future leaders and a very fine young man. Your card comes at a time when these thoughts and prayers are most needed. I will forward this to the Unit Fire Management Officer in Craig, Colorado to pass on to his co-workers there. Again, thank you very much. We appreciate it very much. God bless you all.

Hey guys whats up so much for that snow last night.Buisness has picked up around the 51 house keep up the great work.stay safe!!!!
I kind would like "echo" my friend and brother firefighter Craig e-mail a few months back after his mother passed. My brothers at the 51 house showed me what I already knew. That they had my back.Craig said it well and I want to copy and paste his post because it applies to me also. I would like to personally thank the members of Union Road VFD for what you done for me and my family during the lose of my mother. Some may say it was no big deal to do it, but I promise you it was a very big deal to the family. Your professionalism is to be commended. .I have never been more proud to be in the fire service and especially a member of this department as I was today. Your presence and actions has had a deep and profound affect on my family and myself. Through the many funerals I've participated in I never gave it a thought as to how much of an impact the brotherhood of the fire service has on people. My family and I Thank You for what you've done.
